Our mission is to help small businesses succeed

Our founder, Tracy Kienitz, has been in your shoes. She's been a successful business owner who ultimately failed, because of a lack of business skills, knowledge and mentorship. She's worked her way up the corporate ladder, but walked away from a six figure income when she wasn't able to do the work she loved any more. She's started a new career, in a new town, as a newly-single mother of two – and succeeded, because she formed the first Biz to Biz chapter to help her establish a network and grow her customer base. 

When Tracy realized her life could have been a lot different had she known some of the things members share on a weekly basis with each other, she decided to evolve Biz to Biz from a hobby into a small business of its own. That way, she could support more than just her area's small business professionals, but the entire nation's, and do the work she loves – helping other small business professionals succeed and avoid the heartache she endured as a young entrepreneur.

You see, Tracy purchased a small town tavern when she was 21 years old and grew it from $79,000 in gross annual sales to over $342,000 in just one year. But she lost it all. She didn't know her legal rights when it came time to finance the purchase at a bank. Had she known, she could have sold the business immediately and grossed over $200,000, or enforced her right to the previous owner's tax returns and grown it beyond her wildest dreams. Either way, the knowledge she could have gained through an organization like Biz to Biz would have positively impacted her young family's life in a way she'll never know. Instead, she walked away, filed for bankruptcy, and left town – a heartache Tracy is on a mission to help others avoid and is at the heart of everything we do.
